Ecocentro receive visitors throughout the year, Monday through Sunday from 8 am to 4 p.m. and by evening walks that start at 6 pm, with previous reservation. The duration of the tour ranges from 1:30 minutes to 2 hours and are performed by local naturalist guides, with great experience, who speak English and have extensive knowledge in natural and cultural history of the most outstanding of the site. The natural resource are offered as wild and as natural as possible. Existing flora and fauna can be observed in 90% of the tours.

This is an area of 3 hectares in natural regeneration accessible trails for all types of people. In the trails is possible to appreciate the diversity of wildlife and tropical plants native from the area, including highlights heliconia, orchids and palms. During the tour you can see the two-and three toed sloth, Guatusas, large numbers of birds (There are more than 150 different species) basilisks, iguanas, insects, poisonous red frog, among others. Additionally it has a butterfly farm-bred, with a special site for the display of larvae, pupae and eggs. We reproduce some 30 different species of butterflies and it is one of the most interesting sites by visitors. In the middle of the property we have a lake that is natural habitat for many species of animals among which highlights the Chocuaco (Boat-billed Heron), the red-eyed tree frog (Agalychnis callidryas) and the caiman (Caiman cocodilus) among others. The medicinal plant garden is another attraction. To date we have over 60 different species of medicinal plants labeled.

Maleku Cultural Hall
For the rescue of cultural values Ecocentro Danaus, has an indigenous Maleku house, here are carrying out their performances, will exhibit and sell their handicrafts. The Maleku or Guatusos is one of the smaller ethnic groups, both in population and in the area occupied within the reserve. They are located in the northern plains, in the canton of San Rafael de Guatuso, province of Alajuela. Retain their physical traits and cultural expressions. Maleku language speakers and Spanish, and given the importance of preserving the language is given bilingual schooling.
Inhabit three settlements: El Palenque Margarita, Tonjibe and El Sol. Main agricultural activity is the cultivation of cocoa, peach, palm and are also river fishermen. Craftsmanship in the making of indigenous figures pottery, balsa wood and wood bows and arrows.
